Centre to spend Rs.118.5 mln to fund 112 startups to promote agri firms

Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar has said that the government will spend Rs.118.5 million to fund 112 startups in the area of agro processing, food technology and value addition during 2020-21. The funds will be provided under the Innovation and Agri-entrepreneurship Development Programme launched under the revamped Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY). Tomar further added that the funds will be released in instalments and the selected start-ups have been trained for two months at 29 agri-business incubation centres spread across India.
