5% more income tax returns filed for 2019-20

Nearly 60 million income tax returns (ITRs) for Assessment Year 2020-21 were filed till 10 January 2020, the Income Tax (IT) department stated in a tweet. Filing during the period increased by around five per cent as compared to 56.7 million ITRs filed for the previous Assessment Year by 10 September 2019.
