State Bank of India (SBI) in its research report Ecowrap has recommended the government to increase the investment limit of Public Provident Fund (PPF) Account, Sukanya Samriddhi Account and Senior Citizens Savings Scheme (SCSS) in the upcoming Budget for 2020-21. The report proposed to increase the investment limit of PPF Account and Sukanya Samriddhi Account to Rs.300,000 per annum from existing Rs.150,000 while the ceiling of investment in SCSS must be considered for upward revision to Rs.3 million from Rs.1.5 as retirement benefits have gone up manifold. The report emphasised on incentivising digital transactions and pitched for raising tax free infrastructure bonds.
