US, China and India driving global growth: World Bank President

by Nidhi Bhati

World Bank President David Malpass has asserted that the United States (US), China and India are primarily responsible for global growth. However, Malpass remained concerned over growing inequality due to the Covid-19 pandemic. According to him, there is inequality in terms of vaccinations and median income that is not rising steadily for some countries. Also, there is an inequality in terms of the bankruptcy process and access to credit, he pointed out. Malpass further stated that the World Bank and the IMF are working closely together to have successful implementation of the G20’s Common Framework to deal with unsustainable debt situations.
