India to be fastest growing economy: FM

Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman has exuded confidence that India will emerge as one of the fastest-growing economies, registering a double-digit growth this year. The economic growth next year will be in the range of 7.5-8.5 per cent, which will be sustained for the next decade. The finance minister also highlighted significant reforms undertaken by the government including National Monetisation Pipeline (NMP) and National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) as she met institutional investors in the United States (US). Sitharaman further stressed on reforming institutions such as United Nations, World Bank and International Monetary Fund to make them more transparent and representative.
