Consumers prioritising personal care and well-being: Deloitte survey

Despite inflation, Indians are prioritising spending on luxuries such as personal care, clothing, vehicle, leisure travel and air travels, according to the findings of a survey by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India. While 74 per cent of Indian respondents are concerned about inflation, 77 per cent of consumers are optimistic about their financial situation within the next three years. Nearly 58 per cent of those surveyed are focused on saving for the future. The survey also highlighted that 74 per cent of consumers are planning to buy a vehicle in the next six months. Meanwhile, 85 per cent of consumers plan to spend on leisure travel in the next four weeks. Further, 50 per cent of respondents are spending more on experiences than on goods and 65 per cent of consumers feel safe to take a flight and staying in a hotel. Deloitte’s consumer tracker is an online survey conducted on 1,000 respondents each in 23 countries.
