Economic research faced additional challenges from 3 major shocks: Shaktikanta Das

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das has cautioned that the after-effects of the shocks like Covid-19 pandemic, the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the synchronised tightening of monetary policy across the globe are still unfolding and would warrant constant vigil. These three major shocks posed very different set of challenges for economic research. He stressed that the research function of the central bank must remain prepared to respond to these multiple possibilities as it has done in the past.
