QCO for leather, non-leather footwear to come into effect from Jul 2023

The government is planning to implement Quality Control Order (QCO) for leather and non-leather footwear from July 2023, according to Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. These quality norms would help in containing import of sub-standard goods and boosting the domestic industry. Goyal has urged the footwear industry to focus on quality and make a global mark.
