Consumer Pyramidsdx

Consumer Pyramidsdx is a delivery of the Consumer Pyramids Household Survey. It provides anonymized record-level data at the level of individual households and members of households.

The service delivers data collected from an all-India representative sample of over 170,000 households. This is a panel sample that is surveyed repeatedly over time.

Consumer Pyramids Household Survey is a continuous survey. Data is collected in Waves. There are three Waves every year. Each Wave is completed over a four month period.

The service provides access, for the period of a valid subscription, to data from the first Wave that was conducted during January-April 2016.

Data is delivered as soon as a survey is completed. There are deliveries every four months and every month as well.

There are four types of data offered in Consumer Pyramidsdx.

1. People of India. This data is released once every four months at the end of every Wave. It provides information on the members of the sample households. It includes:

  • Identity information such as age, gender, marital status, relation with head of household, education, state-of-origin, religion, caste, migration.
  • Occupation, nature of occupation, employment status, industry, duration of employment, type of employment, employment arrangement, place of work, etc.
  • Time spent by individuals on work and leisure. Work is distinguished between work for employer and work for home.
  • Health and financial status of individuals.

2. Aspirational India. This data is released once every four months at the end of every Wave. It provides information on the sample households. It includes:

  • Ownership and intentions to buy 12 specific assets
  • Savings and intentions to save
  • Borrowing by purpose and by source of borrowing
  • Household amenities

3. Income Pyramids. This data is released once every month at the end of every month. It provides information on the sample households. It includes:

  • Household income by source of income
  • Incomes of individual household members by source of income

4. Consumption Pyramids. This data is released once every month at the end of every month. It provides information on the sample households. It includes:

  • Household consumption expenses for 153 expenditure categories.
  • Household weekly expenses for 33 fast-frequency expenditure categories.
